BURLINGTON ON-Crossroads Relief and Development is pleased to announce a special partnership for the month of June that will go towards addressing severe water shortages, displacement, and malnutrition affecting parts of Africa. Over 20 million people are at risk of death due to severe drought conditions with over 4 million children at risk of starvation.
For every dollar that is donated towards Famine Relief there will be a 5:1 match up to the first $100,000 received. All donations will be part of the Canadian government match of 1:1, however, we have a special 4:1 food grant that is available for the first $100,000 received. If you act now, your $100 donation towards African Famine Relief, will become a $600 donation by virtue of both grants.
Global Affairs Canada explained on May 29th, “For every dollar an individual Canadian donates to an eligible registered Canadian charity responding to the drought, the Government will contribute an equivalent amount to their Famine Relief Fund.” This match is available until June 30th.
Crossroads Relief and Development has committed to providing assistance through strategic partnerships in Africa to ensure food is provided to families that are in desperate need. A container was recently sent to Kenya with 230,400 servings of dried soup mix to help feed over 2,400 children, but more is needed.
