Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief

Hurricane Harvey was an extremely destructive category 4 Atlantic hurricane which became the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005, ending a record 12-year drought in which no hurricanes made landfall at such an intensity in the country.

In a four-day period, many areas in Texas received more than 40 inches (100 cm) of rain causing catastrophic flooding, resulting in hundreds of thousands of homes inundated with water and displacing more than 30,000 people, that prompted more than 17,000 rescues.

The damage caused by Harvey will be in the billions and unfortunately, a large portion of the losses sustained are by uninsured homeowners.

Scripture tells us that when we are believers and part of the body of Christ, when one suffers we all suffer. We are to show compassion and help those we see in need.

Crossroads Relief & Development has been responding to natural disasters for more than 35 years, providing a Christian response to devastating circumstances and helping to rebuild strong communities.

Will you join us in extending God’s compassion and love through the purchase and distribution of relief supplies to the families affected by this hurricane?

“And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it;
or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.”
